Safety as a core value

Workforce

At Imperium Infrastructure, safety is not just a requirement — it is a core value that underpins every aspect of our work. As a vegetation management services provider, we operate in environments where risks are present, and we take a proactive, professional approach to managing them.

Our commitment is simple: everyone goes home safe, every day.

Environmental Management

Vegetation management involves working with machinery, uneven terrain, highways, rail-adjacent areas, and environmentally sensitive locations. We recognise these risks and implement strict controls to ensure safe operations at all times.

We prioritise:

  • safe clearance and cutting practices
  • controlled use of tools and machinery
  • awareness of surroundings including public access areas
  • protection of wildlife and natural habitats

All works are planned and executed with safety as the first consideration.

Safe Working Practices

We follow structured safe systems of work across all projects, including:

  • risk assessments before any task begins
  • clear method statements for all activities
  • site-specific hazard identification
  • maintaining safe distances from the public and other workers
  • clear communication between team members

Work areas are properly controlled, and where required, signage and barriers are used to protect both our team and the public.

Personal Protective Equipment

Appropriate PPE is mandatory on all sites and is selected based on the task and environment.

This may include:

  • helmets and head protection
  • high-visibility clothing
  • chainsaw protective gear
  • gloves and eye protection
  • hearing protection
  • safety boots

All PPE is regularly checked, maintained, and replaced when necessary to ensure it provides full protection.

Competency and Training

We ensure all personnel are competent, qualified, and properly trained for the work they undertake.

This includes:

  • relevant industry certifications (e.g. chainsaw use, machinery operation)
  • ongoing training and upskilling
  • supervision of less experienced team members
  • awareness of current safety regulations and best practices

Only competent operatives are permitted to carry out specialised tasks.

Responsibility and Accountability

Safety is a shared responsibility.

Every team member is expected to:

  • take responsibility for their own safety and that of others
  • follow all site rules and procedures
  • report hazards, near misses, or unsafe conditions immediately
  • stop work if something is unsafe

We promote a culture where safety concerns can be raised openly without hesitation.

Protecting the Public and Environment

Our work often takes place in public or sensitive environments. We take extra care to:

  • minimise disruption to surrounding areas
  • ensure public safety near work zones
  • carry out environmentally responsible vegetation management
  • prevent damage to infrastructure and property

Our Promise

Safety is at the heart of everything we do. Through proper planning, the right equipment, and competent people, we deliver our services responsibly, professionally, and safely.

No shortcuts. No compromises. Safety first, always.
